That’s a substantial difference which means that retail detectors should perform significantly better than the prototype I tested. It turns out that the prototype isn’t tuned for proper radar detection and all the radar bands detect at 10 dB (or more) less than spec. Unfortunately on test day I ran the prototype unit and didn’t realize that until I got home. Once I heard that, I asked for a retail unit because I like testing with production grade hardware that represents what we will all experience in terms of features, performance, and reliability.
